Current health status of Buglet, Uncle

Buglet is still sick but it's not the flu. Still a mild fever off and
on. My husband's taking care of her today and he's going to take her
to the pediatrician today to check her ears for infection.

Uncle Johnny's operation went well (WHEW!!!) and his prognosis is
good, now! As my mom pointed out, my aunt Sue essentially saved his
life by insisting that he go to her doctor for a second opinion. His
own doctor had just said "Oh well it's a backache" and didn't even
examine him. Sue's doctor is the one that actually spotted this and
sent him for follow-up CT scan... and the CT scan people said,
basically, "OMG go to the emergency room now!" If it had ruptured he'd
have died very quickly.

I hope my coworker's mom has as much luck. She's getting massively
risky brain surgery either today or tomorrow. ... yeah, happy Friday
the 13th, everybody!

Buglet / uncle health woes.

Hi all, thought I'd give a status update. I was sick last weekend
through Tuesday with digestive loveliness.

Then Tuesday night, Buglet was feverish. She'd been coughing a bit, so
of course my first thought was, "Flu?" But it seems to not be the flu.
According to the pediatrician it's an "unspecified upper-respiratory
viral infection" which is doctorese for "looks like a cold, only with
fever."

Anyway, I stayed home with her the last two days. My parents gave me a
nice break each afternoon too (thank you!) and today my husband is
taking a shift. I suspect she won't be going to day care tomorrow
either... we'll work that out somehow.

And in far more serious health news, my uncle was rushed to the ER
yesterday with a huge abdominal aorta aneurysm (!!!!) Thankfully it
hadn't ruptured so his prognosis is OK once they finish surgery.
